How We Coat: From Pretreatment to Cure

The value of a coating is decided in the process, not in the chemistry alone. Two coatings with the same chemistry can perform very differently depending on how they are applied. That is why BOL Chemistry treats the whole line — pretreatment, application, curing and inspection — as one engineered system.

Step 1 · Pretreatment

Every part begins with cleaning and surface preparation. Contaminants and oxides are removed so the coating can bond to the substrate. This stage determines adhesion, and a weak bond here fails long before the coating wears out.

Step 2 · Coating Application

Fasteners pass through the application stage — immersion or spray — where coating thickness is controlled within tight tolerance across the entire thread and head geometry. Consistent application is what makes performance repeatable.

Step 3 · Curing

Parts are cured in controlled ovens to set the coating and develop its protective properties. Temperature and time are monitored so every batch cures to the same specification.

Step 4 · Quality Control

Before any batch ships, we quality-check coating thickness, adhesion and salt-spray performance. It is this end-to-end control that makes our coatings repeatable, batch after batch.
